Nazook

Also known as Gata, Nazook is an Armenian pastry. The pastry has a filling of sugar, butter and flour. Walnuts are also often used in the filling. This recipe does not contain walnuts in the filling. You are free to add nuts to the filling if you like it that way. I hope you like the recipe. Do try it and share your review in the comments.

Active Yeast

1/4 Cup

Sour Cream

42 Grams

Butter

3/8 Cup

Sugar

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a bowl add ¾ cups of Flour and 5/8 tsp Yeast and mix well.

Now add in the sour cream and 56 grams of butter and make a dough.

Refrigerate the dough for 2 hours.

For the filling mix together sugar, 42 grams butter and 3/8 cups of flour.

Now roll the dough until it is thin. Place the filling on it.

Now roll the dough from one end to the other. Using an egg yolk to give it an egg wash.

Divide it into equal pieces.

Place the pieces on a greased baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes allow it to cool, serve and enjoy.
