The Perfect "Sunny Side Up" Egg

This technique was seen on cook's country. My husband loves a sunny side egg and now I have achieved perfect results every time with this method.

Ingredient

1 1/2 tsp

olive oil

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

These are very specific instructions. To achieve perfect results please follow exactly.

* Step 2

In a 12" skillet that has lid, heat skillet on low heat.

* Step 3

Once skillet is hot, just a minute or two add oil.

* Step 4

Allow oil to get hot. Then add butter.

* Step 5

Crack all four eggs into a bowl. Then season to taste with salt and pepper and if you like, red pepper flakes.

* Step 6

Once butter has melted too add eggs raising heat to medium-high.

* Step 7

Cook exactly one minute, covered. Turn off heat and continue to cook covered for 1 minutes for looser yolks, 1 1/2 minutes for a firmer yolk, but still runny. Whites will be cooked through.
