Sig,s Mushroom and Chicken
The original stems from the very popular German dish Jägerschnitzel , a very popular takeaway in Germany. Here instead of using a schnitzel I used the same sauce but added leftover cooked chicken. #Fakeaway
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Finely chop the shallots and bacon. If the mushrooms are small, keep whole otherwise halve or quater them. Gently brown these ingredients in the oil. Add the tomato puree until the mixture starts to thicken a little, make sure that it not burns to the pan. Add the port, cook down. Add the stock then the cream or alternative if using. Add the cooked chicken.
Season to taste. Add a little dark gravy powder if you want the sauce thicker. This sauce also works well with leftover other meats.
