Ann's breadbowls + dip

Family recipe from early 2000.

Ingredient

Food ration :

20 servings

Cooking time :

5 hours
1 1/2 tbsp

active dry yeast

1 1/2 tsp

salt

5-6 c

flour

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a large bowl, dissolve 1 tbsp sugar in warm water and stir in yeast. Allow to proof until creamy foam appears (approx. 5 minutes)

* Step 2

Mix remaining sugar, salt, and oil into the yeast. Then mix 1 cup of flower at a time. Knead for 7 minutes (hook attachment)

* Step 3

Place in a well-oiled bowl and turn to coat.

* Step 4

Cover with a damp cloth..allow to rise into doubled in bulk (approx 1 hour)

* Step 5

Punch dough down..knead 1 minute and divide in half.

* Step 6

Allow to rise in bowls for 30 minutes.

* Step 7

Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes.

* Step 8

DIP: Mix ingredients, if breadbowls are available, scoop center of bowl out (after cooled) and add dip mixture. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour at 300 degrees.
