Savory Chicken Casserole

Great comfort food that is easy to make in less than hour. Good for left over chicken and those last few slices of bread left in the bag. (The more variety of bread the more interesting the flavor will be.) Sometimes I will add a layer of sliced mushrooms too. Always a family favorite in my house. Hope it will be in yours too ☺️

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Preheat the oven to 450°F.

* Step 2

Place the grilled chicken in a deep casserole dish. Preferably one with a lid.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soup mix and sour cream.

* Step 4

Spread the creamy mixture over the chicken.

Next layer on the frozen peas and carrots.

Add the layer of cubed bread. Press down with your palm to even out the casserole.

* Step 7

Sprinkle on top of the bread the sage, thyme, parsley, salt and onion powder.

* Step 8

Dot the butter over the bread, cover and place in the oven for 20 minutes.

* Step 9

After 20 minutes, remove the cover and bake for another 10-15 minutes just to get the top a nice crusty texture.

* Step 10

Pull from oven and allow to sit for 5 minutes. Serve hot and enjoy.
