Spicy Lamb and Orzo Salad
One of the recipes that I grew up with, now I make it in Swift River Cultures Kitchen. I normally don’t serve it regularly, I usually make it at Kitchen Family Meal or if someone wants it

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Whisk together 1/4 cup of the oil, five spice powder, and garlic in a medium baking dish then add the lamb and turn to coat in the mixture. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour and up to four hours
* Step 2
Whisk together the vinegar,soy sauce,sesame oil, sugar, chilies and remaining 2 tablespoons of canola oil in a large bowl and let sit while you prepare the orzo
* Step 3
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. add the orzo and cook until just tender, approximately seven minutes. drain well, place in the bowl with the dressing and add the green onions and cilantro and then mix until combined. Let sit at room temperature while you cook the lamb. can be made eight hours in advance and refrigerated. serve room temperature or cold.

Heat up the grill piece to high

Remove the lamb from the marinade and season with the salt place the tenderloins on the grill and cook until golden brown and slightly charred, three or four minutes, turn over and continue grilling for 2 to 3 minutes for medium rare. remove from the grill and let rest for like five minutes before slicing onto quarter inch thick slices. Transfer the orzo to a large platter and top with the lamb.
* Step 6
Five spice powder include cinnamon,cloves, fennel seeds, star anise and Szechuan peppercorns. It may sound wicked weird,but the flavors really complement each other. It’s used in many Asian dishes and you can find it at most supermarkets
