Fruit Cocktail Pie
The perfect cool treat for summer. Warning it is very sweet. Kids love it and so do I! I ate 2 pieces already!
Cooking instructions
* Step 3
in a small grease free bowl beat egg whites until foamy.
* Step 4
add cream of tartar and beat until stiff.
* Step 5
gradually add vanilla then gradually add sugar while beating constant.
* Step 6
spoon meringue into 2 9inch pie pans. just enough so that it covers the bottom and the sides. (you will probably have some left over.
* Step 7
bake for one hour then turn off oven and let meringue cool inside the oven.
* Step 8
cool completely before going to next step.
* Step 10
combine sour cream, sugar and vanilla. mix well
* Step 11
fold in the well drained fruit cocktail.
* Step 12
spoon half the mix into each meringue shell.
* Step 13
refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.
* Step 14
makes 2 pies. keep pie refrigerated when not being eaten.
* Step 15
this is a very sweet pie. if you don't like super sweet dont make it.. lol. :)
