Really Rockin' Refrigerator Cookies

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl.
* Step 2
Add the flour, and mix well.
* Step 3
Divide the dough into 4 equal parts, and form each portion into a log 1 inch in diameter.
* Step 4
Roll 2 logs in the red sprinkles and 2 in the green sprinkles, pressing them onto the sides.
* Step 5
Chill the logs for an hour.
* Step 6
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
* Step 7
Cut the rolls into 1/2 inch thick slices, and place the slices on ungreased cookie sheets.
* Step 8
Bake until the cookies are golden, 8 to 10 minutes.
* Step 9
Cool the cookies on wire racks.
* Step 10
*This recipe makes about 5 dozen cookies.*
* Step 11
**You can freeze the logs until it's time to bake and slice them right from the freezer, but add 2 to 3 minutes to the baking time.**

***You can also roll these in different colored sprinkles to use for a different occasion other than Christmas.***
