The Quintessential Chole Bhature

#cookpadindia The quintessential Chole Bhature! Who doesn't like them. A tasty option which is a popular Breakfast item in our Country. These Bhaturas are as super soft and fluffy as those in a restaurant. Infact these are much more healthier too. Roll them with light hands and you will end up with fluffy puffed up Bhaturas or Puris. Made alongside Chole, this is a treat to our tastebuds. The more the better, hence these are to be made in abundance and enjoyed on any day. Be it a Lunch or a Dinner, these are perfect for any family meals apart from Breakfast. My family enjoys it for any meal. That's the charm of this popular dish.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash and soak Chickpeas for 4-5 hours or better still overnight. In a Pressure Cooker, heat Oil and saute Onions with Ginger, Salt and the other spices mentioned. Also add some chopped Coriander Leaves. After sauteeing for 5-6 minutes, add Chickpeas and Potato cubes with a big glass of water.

* Step 2

Pressure cook for 8-10 whistles on a high heat. Let the pressure settle down before opening the lid of the cooker. Adjust Salt at this stage. Simmer on a medium heat for 5 minutes more. Squeeze some Lemon juice now. It's time to dish out yummy Chole.

* Step 3

Knead a smooth dough out of all the ingredients mentioned using water as required. Divide the dough into equal sized balls. Roll out a small Puri. Deep fry these Bhaturas in hot Oil on a medium high heat until puffed up and fully done. Serve hot with Chole.

Enjoy with yummy Chole for Breakfast or Dinner. Or even as an excellent Snack option on any given day.
