Chingri Moong Daal

#thcweek1 #thc For Bengalis we are so familiar with our Machh er matha diye dal , this dish brings freshness to your dal menu. Recipe is almost similar, instead of fish head, I have added some fried prawns and the daal is yummy and can be enjoyed with plain rice

Ingredient

Food ration :

Cooking time :

30 minutes
1/2 tsp

cumin seeds

1 tbsp

mustard oil

1/2 tsp

ghee

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Dry roast the moong daal till golden. Wash the roasted daal and keep aside

In a kadai take 1 tbsp mustard oil, add cumin seeds,dry red chilli, ginger paste, turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilli powder and fry.

Now add tomatoes and cook the prawns till oil starts separating and add green chilli

* Step 4

Now add the washed roasted moong daal and fry till the oil seperates out

* Step 5

Now add 2 cups water and boil

* Step 6

Add salt and 1/2 tsp ghee and 1/2 tsp garam masala powder and once the daal gets cooked and becomes mushy. Now serve the daal with steamed rice.
