For Bengalis we are so familiar with our Machh er matha diye dal , this dish brings freshness to your dal menu. Recipe is almost similar, instead of fish head, I have added some fried prawns and the daal is yummy and can be enjoyed with plain rice

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Dry roast the moong daal till golden. Wash the roasted daal and keep aside
* Step 2
In a kadai take 1 tbsp mustard oil, add cumin seeds,dry red chilli, ginger paste, turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilli powder and fry.
* Step 3
Now add tomatoes and cook the prawns till oil starts separating and add green chilli
* Step 4
Now add the washed roasted moong daal and fry till the oil seperates out
* Step 5
Now add 2 cups water and boil
* Step 6
Add salt and 1/2 tsp ghee and 1/2 tsp garam masala powder and once the daal gets cooked and becomes mushy. Now serve the daal with steamed rice.
