Sorshe Parshe Jhal

Shorshe Bata diye Parshe Macher Jhal is a famous Bengali mustard-based Mullet fish aka Parshe fish curry. This is a very popular fish recipe for Bengalis with most simple pantry ingredients. I thank Ms. Kumkum Chatterjee for her recipe. #indianrecipes #bengalirecipe #cooksnapchallenge

Ingredient

1/2 tsp

ginger paste

4 tbsp

mustard oil

as needed

Water

As per taste

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Marinate the fishes with turmeric powder and salt and keep them for 10 minutes.

Take oil in Kadai and lightly fry the fishes and keep aside.

In the same Kadai add further 1 tbsp oil, add black cumin seeds, green chili, ginger paste and immediately add 1 tbsp water. Keep the mustard paste ready.

* Step 4

Now add the fishes, turmeric powder, some water, and cover and cook slowly. Finally, add 1 tbsp mustard paste and just boil for 2 minutes or it may become bitter. Sprinkle few drops of mustard oil and serve with hot rice.
