Easy Chana Dal Recipe

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash chana dal 2-3 times in running water and Soak for 10-15 minutes. Transfer it in a pressure cooker.
* Step 2
Wash and Grate tomato and ginger.
* Step 3
Transfer it in the pressure cooker. Add salt and turmeric powder and mix well and place the lid and cook till 8-10 whistles in pressure cooker. Switch off the flame. Let pressure releases automatically.
* Step 4
Open the lid and stir dal.
* Step 5
In a small pan heat ghee. Add asafoetida and saute for 30 seconds. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add red chilli powder, garam masala, kasuri methi and mix well.
* Step 6
Transfer this tempering in dal pan. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix.
* Step 7
Serve hot with chapatti or rice garnished with chopped coriander leaves. Add 1 tsp ghee over it.
