Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash and put dal in pressure cooker. Add turmeric powder, salt and water in it. Pressure cook for 10 minutes after the first whistle. Switch off the flame. Let pressure releases automatically.
* Step 2
Heat oil in a karahi. Add asafoetida and saute for 30 seconds. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put ginger garlic paste. Sauté and add chopped onion and cook till onion gets golden brown colour. Add grated tomato and all dry masala for tadka and cook till oil leaves the karahi.
* Step 3
Put dal in this tadka and cook for 2 minutes. Add chopped coriander leaves.
* Step 4
Serve hot with chapati or rice garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
