Black Pepper Mushroom

#spiceweek5 Black Pepper is an integral part of our daily spice journey. We can’t do without Pepper. I am sharing a Thai dish which is Black Pepper Mushroom. Could be enjoyed as a Entree, a side dish or a main course

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Cut mushrooms into halves and add to a bowl. Add crushed black pepper, chopped garlic, soya sauce, vinegar and 1 cup corn flour. Coat the cornflour well and if need be sprinkle little water.

* Step 2

In a wok heat oil and deep fry the mushrooms. Flip after 1-2 mins. Set aside once fried

* Step 3

For Gravy - in a wok heat 2 tsp Oil and add chopped garlic and chopped onions. Cook until translucent.

* Step 4

Add chopped ginger and chopped green chilies and stir. Add 1 Tbsp coarsely crushed black pepper, Dark Soya sauce, light soya sauce, red chilli sauce, oyster sauce and vinegar. Mix well

* Step 5

Sprinkle water and add cornflour slurry. Increase the flame to thicken the sauce.

* Step 6

Add the sauce to the mushrooms and mix well.

* Step 7

Garnish with spring onion greens

* Step 8

Plate and enjoy
