Navratri Thali

#navratri During Navratri having Sabudana Khichdi and Lauki ke Kheer is common and is part of a traditional food. I enjoyed eating both for lunch today

Ingredient

Food ration :

1 person

Cooking time :

Preparation time-4h40 mins, Cooking time-1 hour
1.5 cup

milk

As required

Almonds to garnish

1 cup

Sabudana

1/2 tsp

cumin seeds

2-3 Tbsp

peanuts

4-5 Tbsp

ghee

As per taste

Sendha salt

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

For Lauki Ke Kheer - Grate the Lauki and set aside. Boil the milk.

* Step 2

When the milk is boiling add the grated Lauki and keep stirring for 15 mins on low flame. Add condensed milk and stir

* Step 3

One can add sugar and I didn’t add. Add cardamoms and stir one more time. Set aside. Garnish with almonds

For Sabudana Khichdi

* Step 5

Soak Sabudana or Tapioca for 3-4 hours. Cut potatoes into small pieces

* Step 6

In a wok heat ghee and stir fry the peanuts. Set aside

* Step 7

In the same wok heat ghee and add potatoes and fry well. Set aside

* Step 8

In the same wok heat more ghee and add cumin seeds, and add sabudana. Stir for 1-2 mins. Add chopped tomatoes and green chillies and sendha salt. Stir well. Add fried potatoes and peanuts and stir one more time. Set aside and enjoy
