Baked Pizza Pockets (Yeast Free)

These delicious, cheesy, homemade pizza puffs are super delicious and a little less guilt-free as I made with wheat flour and added only a little maida. It's filled with the veggies of your choice and can be customized according to taste. The gooey, melted cheese, wrapped in a crusty pizza pocket is incredibly easy to make. The best part is, it is not fried and yeast-free. #boxweek18 #sangitakalra

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Add wheat flour, refined flour, and baking powder, together in a bowl, add in oil, salt and mix nicely. Add water, such that, you get a tight dough. Keep it covered for 30 minutes.

Let us prepare the filling. Heat oil in a pan, add the onions and garlic. Sauté till they turn pink. Add veggies, salt, pepper, chili flakes, mixed herbs, and oregano. Mix together. Add tomato sauce, If you have pizza sauce, you may a little of that too. Add the cheese and keep it aside.

Knead the dough once again and divide it into equal parts. Out of this dough, I could make 5 big balls. Pick each ball, dust some flour on a clean platform, roll each ball flat on the platform. Cut the sides to give a square or rectangle shape. Cut from the center and make two equal strips. Pick each strip, apply water on the edges, fill in the fillings, and put the other strip on top of it. stick it from the edges and press with the fork to give a design. Like this prepare with other strips.

Preheat the oven, at 200 degrees centigrade for 10 minutes. Glaze each pizza pocket with the thick cream and bake them for 10 to 15 minutes to get golden crusty color on top. Remove it from the oven and glaze it with melted butter. Serve hot with your favorite sauce.

Notes: 1)With some preparation you can even fry them if you do not like the baked color. 2)Check the oven time according to your oven. 3)Adding spices and sauce and cheese can all be customized according to your taste buds!!
