Amy 's Sweet Ginger .
i make these a lot throughout winter , great for a sore throat and common colds . :positive
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash , peel the ginger and thinly slice the ginger about 1/8 inch .
* Step 2
Combine the cold water and sugar together in a medium saucepan on high heat and bring to a slow boil , stirring to make a syrup .
* Step 3
Once it has boiled , Reduce the heat to medium low and add the ginger slices and simmer until the liquid is reduced to half .
* Step 4
once liquid has reduced remove the ginger from the syrup mixture , best done with a slotted spoon , and place the ginger on absorbed paper or cloth to drain .
* Step 5
While still warm dust with extra sugar if desired and let cool before eating . enjoy . :-) .
* Step 6
NOTE : i only made a little batch this time cause it's spring , i make bigger batches come winter cause these are great to help with sore throats and colds .
