Kaancha Peper Dalna Raw Papaya Curry

Kaancha Peper Dalna is a healthy and tasty traditional Bengali cuisine.Raw papaya has immense health benefits and full of nutrients.There are many ways of cooking raw papaya.Some add lentil dumplings ,some green peas and some with grated coconut.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Peel and cut the papaya into cubes discarding the middle portion and seeds.Peel and cube the potato.Pressure cook papaya and potato with 1 cup water and little salt upto 2 whistles and release steam after 2 minutes.The vegetable should be semi cooked.Strain water and reserve stock.
* Step 2
Heat oil in a wok.Fry chopped coconut.Set aside.Then fry the semi cooked papaya and potato smearing little salt.Add a bay leaf and add ginger paste.Fry and add turmeric,red chilli powder,cumin powder,salt and sugar to taste.Add the fried papaya, potato,grated coconut and toss.
* Step 3
Add the reserved stock and if needed add some more water and cook for 2 minutes.Sprinkle garam masala and ghee.Serve healthy and nutritious Peper Dalna with steamed rice or any Indian flat bread.
