Beef pepper Roast/Beef Ularthiyathu

Beef Ularthiyathu was one of the traditional style of beef preparation done at our homes in our childhood days.It was served with rice porotta or chappathy .The nostalgic memories of this mouth watering delicacy forced me to try this preparation with a little variety . So I made this as the weekend special dish at my son's home and it was well enjoyed by the whole family. I have added fried coconut bites,curry leaves ,and pepper as topping, which added aroma and special flavor to the dish.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Cook the cleaned and sliced beef in a pressure cooker with the ingredient in set A, adding water just below the beef level. Take of from flame after 3 whistles and keep aside for slow cooling

* Step 2

Heat oil in a shallow pan and splutter the mustard seeds. Saute the onions, followed by green chilies, and the curry leaves.When the onion gets translucent,add the ginger-garlic paste. Stir the mixture for 3 or 4minutes till the smell of the paste comes out.Add all the spices in set B mix well. (take care that the spices do not get over fried)Now open the pressure cooker.If the beef is well cooked,add the stock inside the cooker to the pan followed by the beef stirring continuously.

* Step 3

Continue to cook the beef masala mixture in the pan till the water inside the pan starts drying.Add more salt if necessary. Then decrease the flame and continue to stir for 10 more minutes in slow flame till the beef gets more dried up and oil seems to come out from the beef.

* Step 4
