Singaporean Kopitiam style crispy Kaya toast ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ

Singapore is where I was grown up and I always miss its local food. Recently, my husbandโ€™s colleague in Singapore came to Japan and brought a Kaya paste jar as a souvenir!!๐Ÿ˜†

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Cut the crust of slices of bread. ๐Ÿž Do not throw away these crust as you can make tasty homemade sugar rusk!!(Please see my sugar tusk recipe from the below link)

Spread the Kaya jam thickly on bread. Put some butter on top. Make a sandwich.

* Step 3

Apply some butter on a heated pan, start grilling the Kaya sandwich. This step is a tip to make the bread crispy on surface, so if you think the butter is not covered both surfaces, add on some more butter.

* Step 4

Once both sides are nicely grilled, cut into half and enjoy with kopi and eggs like how Singaporean does!
