Thanks to the online live cooking show by Cookpad Chinaโ€™s Admin (you can find the video on Cookpad Malaysia YouTube), I learned how to cook this delicious Chinese dish!! Her authentic recipe is translated to Malay and published by @SuperMin_Cookpad , so I followed it and I arranged it by adding potatoes too! Really yummy and good to go with white rice!

Ingredient

1 table spoon

Sesame oil

80 ml

Water

40 ml

Soy sauce

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Boil chicken from water for 5 minutes to remove the excess fat. After 5 mins, drain water.

Prepare the sauce. <Water : Soy sauce : Rock sugar ๏ผ 8:4:1>

Remove the skin of garlic, slice ginger and chop red chili. Heat sesame oil in a pan and start frying from the ginger. Once it becomes fragrant, add garlic and red chili too.

Add chicken in the pan and continue frying.

Prepare potatoes. Peel the skin and cut into 4 pieces. Put in a heat resistant bowl, cover with a plastic wrap and heat them for 3 minutes in a microwave (600w). One the potatoes are cooked, add in the pan.

Add the sauce that you prepared in step 2 in the pan and simmer for 20 minutes. Add potatoes too.

Once the sauce becomes thick, stop the heat and add basil leaves. Cover with a lid and leave it for few minutes.

Serve on plates and ready to eat!
