Cooking instructions
* Step 1
In a heating pan, add 5 tsp of Oil and allow it to heat up nicely.
* Step 2
Add ½ tsp of Mustard Seeds (Rai), ½ tsp of Cumin Seeds (Jeera), 2 tsp of Groundnut (Mungfali), ¼ tsp of Asafoetida (Hing), ½ tsp of Chana Dal, ¼ cup of chopped Onions, 3 to 4 nos. of slit Green Chillies and sauté for 2 min. on medium flame.
* Step 3
Then add ¼ cup of chopped Tomatoes and sauté for more 1 min.
* Step 4
Furthermore, add 1 cup of washed Toor Dal and mix well.
* Step 5
Then add ¼ tsp of Turmeric Powder (Haldi), ¼ tsp of Coriander Powder (Dhaniya), ½ tsp of Garam Masala and mix well.
* Step 6
Now add 1 cup of washed Rice, 4 cups of Water, ¾ tsp of Salt, 1 tsp of grated Garlic and give a nice stir.
* Step 7
Cover the lid and cook on medium flame for 15 – 20 min.
* Step 8
Lastly add handful of freshly chopped Coriander and mix well.
* Step 9
Garnish with Butter or Ghee and serve hot with Lemon Pickle.
