Simple Gluten Free Lasagne
Week 3 of our home schooling home economics lessons. This week I taught Alex to make a simple lasagne using very basic ingredients (it’s his favourite meal). This simple lasagne is also gluten free and dairy free.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Fry the onions in some oil until translucent and soft. Add the beef mince and fry until brown. Add the red pasta sauce and leave to simmer while you make the sauce.
* Step 3
Melt the marg in a saucepan. Add enough flour to form a thick roux (paste). Then add in the milk a bit at a time until you have a thick batter like consistency. Turn the heat up and bring it to a boil adding more milk to thin it out to a cheese sauce consistency.
* Step 4
Now it’s time to assemble your lasagne. Get a large baking dish. Spread a layer of Bolognese mince sauce in the base. Top with lasagne sheets (I dip them into boiling water before layering the sheets up) and then a thin layer of white sauce. Repeat!
* Step 5
Finish with a layer of white sauce. You can tip with cheese or vegan cheese, but if you don’t like vegan cheese like me it is still satisfyingly tasty without (but be generous with your white sauce here).
* Step 6
Bake in the oven at 190 C for 50 mins.
