Sweet tahini cake with tahini glaze
I’ve heard from my colleagues and many people here in the UK who buy tahini to use it for a specific recipe that they don’t know what to do with the rest of the jar.
Cooking instructions
* Step 2
In a deep bowl mix the flour, salt and baking powder.
* Step 3
In another deep bowl and using an electric mixer, beat eggs, sugar and vanilla essence (or lemon zest- that’s what i used) until the sugar melts and the mixture is pale and thick.
* Step 4
Combine the dry ingredients with the egg mixture, 1 cup of vegetable oil and 3/4 cup of milk until thick
* Step 5
Finally add the tahini. Mix again lightly and gently just to combine the tahini with the rest of the batter.
* Step 6
Grease your baking tin with tahini (or butter or baking sheet), add a sprinkle of sesame seeds and pour in the batter.
* Step 7
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. I served it with tahini glaze
