Apple khatta meetha

Apple khatta meetha is a very nice side dish. Very flavourful. It has spiciness, sweetness and tanginess all together. Do try this recipe.. #cookpad #COOKEVERYPART #apple

Ingredient

panch phoron

few curry leaves

3-4 tbsp

jaggery powder

15 ml

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a kadhai heat oil. Splutter panch phoron, put dry red chillies, curry leaves and hing. Mix. Now add peeled and chopped dices of apples. Mix all well.

Next add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder. Mix. Cover and cook till apples are soft yet crunchy. They should not become very mushy. As it's done, add red chilli powder and mix. Then add tamarind pulp and mix. Add water and let it cook at medium flame. As the rawness of tamarind is lost, add jaggery powder and let it be on slow flame till jaggery is dissolved.

Cook till you reach the desired consistency. As the perfect consistency is attained, sprinkle cumin and dry red chillies powder. Mix all gently. Apple khatta meetha is ready.. Let it settle, cool down, then serve...by then apples must have absorbed all the flavours more nicely.
