Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Place the pan with milk, add cardamom powder and less than a pinch of salt. Keep some milk for mixing the custard powder.
Now let milk come to boil. Add roasted vermicelli and cook till vermicelli becomes plumpy. As vermicelli is cooked, add sugar. Mix, let the sugar dissolve. Add dry fruits and mix. Let it be on slow flame.
Now in a small bowl take custard powder,add milk(in room temperature), gradually and mix to make a lump free slurry.
* Step 2
Add the custard slurry into the vermicelli kheer to make it vermicelli custard. Flame must be very low so that it doesn't burn and also stir continuously while adding custard, to make it lump free. As custard is mixed, cook it for a while, till you get a nice thick VERMICELLI CUSTARD.
* Step 3
Now switch off the stove and let your custard cool down.
* Step 4
Meanwhile, make sugar syrup. Take sugar in a pan, add half the quantity of water and boil till you get almost one string consistency. Switch off and let it cool.
* Step 5
Now take a tray with tight lid. Arrange rusks as per the size of the tray. Using a spoon, put sugar syrup on each rusk. Don't add much to make it soggy. As you are done,add over it, the prepared vermicelli custard layer.
* Step 6
Upon that arrange rusks again. Put sugar syrup evenly. Now it's ready for cooling in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Close lid and place in the fridge.
* Step 7
After two hours, it sets, remove, cut and serve...
