During chhath Pooja chana dal recipe is prepared. I have made chana dal and basmati rice pulao/ khichdi. It's delicious and can be realised with curd / curry or such.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Soak chana dal for 1 hour and basmati rice for 30 minutes. Wash and decant the water.
* Step 2
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. On low flame saute cumin seeds, bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, and cashews till aromatic.
* Step 3
Saute rice and chana dal for a minute with ginger Juliennes, black pepper powder, and garam masala powder.
* Step 4
Add 3 cups of water, salt, and sugar. Cook for two whistles. Then slow down the flame and cook for a minute.
* Step 5
When cool down, open the cooker, garnish with mint leaves and Serve.
