Mango Launji

#new This sweet and sour , mango recipe, is so delicious. This is prepared with raw mangoes, some home available masala and jaggery/sugar. I have prepared it in my way.

Ingredient

Food ration :

4-5 servings

Cooking time :

20 mins
500 gm

raw mango

200 gm

jaggery

1 cup

water

1/2 tsp

cumin seeds

3/4 tsp

salt

1/2 tsp

garam masala

2 tbsp

oil

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash, (peel/unpeeled)and cut the raw mangoes into pieces.(I haven't peeled to keep the mango pieces intact.

* Step 2

Fry the cumin, methi and fennel seeds in slow flame. Grind to powder when,cool down.

* Step 3

Chop the jaggery into small pieces.

* Step 4

Heat the oil. Splutter mustard seeds in hot oil. Add the curry leaves.

* Step 5

Add the chopped mangoes and mix well with oil mix.

* Step 6

Add both the salt and turmeric powder and red chilli powder and coat well with the mangoes.

* Step 7

Cook for two minutes, covered. Then add 1 cup water. Mix the jaggery and cook covered,till mangoes are softened.

* Step 8

Switch off the flame and mix well,the ground masala and garam masala.
