Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Your basic pantry items maybe not the mushrooms in some households.
* Step 2
Remove the stem from your mushrooms and slice into 1/4in. Pieces. Slice your onion and shallot in half and cut into 1/4in. Pieces. Smash and mince your garlic. In all actuality you can cut your vegetables anyway you prefer.
* Step 3
In a preheated skillet add oil and butter then your onions and shallot and cook 3-4 mins. untill slightly soft. Stirring constantly to heat evenly and avoid burning.
* Step 4
Then add mushrooms and continue to stir 3-4 mins. In the last 30-40 secs. Add garlic and mix throughly.
* Step 5
Add your flour slowly and keep stirring untill well incorporated about a minute or so.
* Step 6
Pour in your beef stock a cup at a time constantly stirring to avoid clumping of the flour.
* Step 7
Add beef bouillon and bring to a boil.
* Step 8
Reduce heat to low/med. And simmer untill reduced by half. Stirring occasionally. Basically when you use flour in soups and gravy's you want to let it simmer for at least a 1/2 hour too cook off the floury taste.
* Step 9
And there you go easy basic mushroom gravy. Serve with beef and or pork. Hope you enjoy. Celery and fresh thyme are great additions to the gravy.
* Step 10
Would of included the meatloaf but Mrs. Grass onion soup mix has it on the box. "Long week"felt a little lazy so i took the quick route on the loaf.
* Step 11
Have to admit the meatloaf was very good!!!
* Step 12
Stay safe and keep warm!!! May God bless us all....
