I know you don't know what's Somen.. It's one of the Japanese noodles, and typically eat in cold water and the best lunch meal in hot summer in Japan.

Somen noodle. Dry

It takes 1min 40 sec. to cook, followed by wash in a cold water.

Keep the somen in ice cold water. Glind fresh ginger to add into noodle soup, and eat.

* Step 4

Noodle soup base is available in any Asian shop, called Men Tsuyu. But, you can make at home with soysauce, dried bonito, mirin and sake. I know those ingredients are not easy at regular non Japanese homes.
