Chicken tikka masala

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Marinate the chicken pieces with 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste, 2 tablespoons yogurt, 1 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, salt, 1 tablespoon Kashmiri chilli powder and lemon juice. Mix well and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

* Step 2

Preheat oven 378F and place chicken pieces on baking tray/dish and bake for 12 minutes or till 80% done.

* Step 3

Heat oil and add cinnamon, cardamoms, cloves and bay leaf. Stir fry for 30 seconds.

* Step 4

Add onions and cook till brown.

* Step 5

Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 3 minutes.

* Step 6

Add chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder, Kashmiri chiili powder and mix well.

* Step 7

Add a splash of water and cook till oil separates.

* Step 8

Whisk the yogurt and add while stirring all the time on low flame.

* Step 9

Increase heat and cook till oil separates.

* Step 10

Add tomato puree and cook till oil separates.

* Step 11

Remove the whole spices and add the roasted chicken with the juices.

* Step 12

Cover and cook on low flame for 3 minutes.

* Step 13

Add cilantro, mix and serve.
