Podi Idli Fry is a favourite recipe where we make chatpata, spiced idli bites and flavour them with lentil powder and tempering. Ingredient

Cooking time :

10 minutes
2 tablespoons

Ghee

1/2 tsp

Cumin seeds

1 tsp

Urad daal

1/8 th tsp

Hing

2 tablespoons

Idli chutney (podi)

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

First, cut the idlis into cubes. Then sprinkle the Idli Podi all over the pieces along with 1 tablespoon of melted ghee. Keep for 5 minutes.

* Step 2

Now heat the remaining ghee in a pan. Add the seeds, and daals and saute well. Then add the hing, and curry leaves, mix well and then add the idli cubes and saute well.

Adjust salt, squeeze lemon juice on top, switch off the flame and serve on your child's favourite plate. Don't forget to reserve a couple of idlis to make funny faces as I have tried, remembering how I used to do them when my daughter was small! 🥰
