Karnataka Special Akki Rotti

Akki Rotti is a famous dish from kannada cuisine which is a skillet pancake made wity steamed rice flour, onions, coconut, dill leaves and spices. It's a staple from coastal region and is very healthy! #SIS #Cookpadindia #Karnataka #rice #breakfast #southindian #coastal #roti

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

First, take a shallow plate or bowl. Mix the flours and salt. Add 1 tsp oil. Pour 1.5 cups boiling water and close the lid. Keep for 10 minutes.

Now add all the other ingredients and mix well with a spoon. Using rest of the water, mix to a loose dough

* Step 3

Heat an iron or cast iron tawa or skillet. Grease with oil and wipe. Then take a large ball sized portion of the dough.

Press with wet palm to a thin, flat and round shaped pancake. Make small indentation with fingers and pour oil on them and around.

* Step 5

Cover and cook on medium flame from both sides till golden brown. Make all rotis similarly.

* Step 6

Serve piping hot akki Rotti with chutney or vegetable saagu (curry). Enjoy Maadi!
