Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Take a bowl, add rice & dal, mix it well, wash it. Soak in water for 1/2 hours, strain it, keep aside.
* Step 2
Take a pressure cooker, add desi ghee, heat it.
* Step 3
Moderate the flame, add hing & zeera, let it splutter. In goes dry red chilli, saute it for a minute.
* Step 4
Now add khichdi, mix it well, increase the flame. Add haldi powder now. Stir fry it for 3 minutes.
* Step 5
In goes garam masala powder, mix it well. Stir fry it 2 minutes.
* Step 6
Now add 4 cup water (adjustable), mix it well. In goes salt, stir it nicely. Give a boil.
* Step 7
Place the lid, give 5 whistles on high flame. Lower the flame, cook it for 7 minutes. Turn off the flame, allow it to depressurise naturally. Open the lid after 5 minutes.
* Step 8
Take out in a serving dish, garnish it with chopped dhania patta.
* Step 9
Can be served along with dahi, salad, papad, chutney or desi ghee...
