Orange Marmalade🍊🍊 (homemade)

#Joy I love to try all kinds of jams but its was for the very ist time I tried out orange marmalade in my kitchen😍it was perfect just like readymade. Marmalade is similar to jam or jelly, but typically includes fruit peel, which gives the condiment an aromatic bitterness. Homemade orange marmalade is a wonderful combination of sweet and bitter.

Ingredient

Food ration :

8-10 servings
1,1/2 litre

water

1/2 tbs

lemon zest

3-4 tbs

lemon juice

1,1/2 kg

sugar

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash and dry the oranges

* Step 2

Cut oranages into two halves and by using juicer machine/hand juicer squeeze all the membranes to get as much juice as possible (app 1 litre) set aside

* Step 3

By using a sharp knife, cut off all the thick white part from around each orange and finely cut every strip of orange as thinly as possible and set aside for later use.

* Step 4

In pot, add orange juice water orange skin lemon zest and lemon juice and mix well

Place a double layer cheese cloth/muslin cloth in a bowl,add membranes and seeds in the bowl (I hunged it like this to get more juice)😂

* Step 6

Lift up the corners and tie the muslin cloth into a bag to hold the membranes and seeds and tie this "pectin bag" to the pot and bring it to boil.cover and cook on medium low flame for 15 minutes

* Step 7

Remove pectin bag and squeeze into the pot before discarding the bag then cook uncovered for 20 25 minutes

* Step 8

Add sugar mix well and cook for 2 hours on medium low flame or until thickens and keep stiring in between

* Step 9

Let it cool and transfer into sterilized jars it can be stored im air tight container upto 6-7 months

Let it cool and refregirate until use (flavour is developed upon cooling)
