Dahi Vada

Dahi vada is a type of chaat originating from the Indian subcontinent and popular throughout South Asia. Dahi Vada are soft lentil fritters soaked in creamy yogurt. These melt-in-the-mouth snack is topped with Tamarind chutney and Green chutney! Holi festival is always incomplete without these chatpata Dahi Vada!😋😍 #cookingwithayushi #cookingwithcookpad

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Firstly, drain off the water from the soaked dal (both urad and moong) and transfer to the grinder.

* Step 2

Add chilli and ginger and salt and blend it to smooth paste. Prepare a thick batter.

* Step 3

Now with wet spoon, drop a spoonful of batter into hot oil. Keeping the flame on medium, fry until the vada turns golden brown and crisp. Stir occasionally.

* Step 4

Now take hot water in a large bowl and drop the hot fried vada into the water and dip completely.

* Step 5

After soaking for about 30 minutes, squeeze off the water from the vada and transfer them to the plate.

* Step 6

Now take the curd, sugar and salt. Mix them well.

* Step 7

Now for plating, pour the sweetened curd over the vada. Now pour generous amount of tamarind chutney and Green chutney.

* Step 8

Sprinkle some chilli powder, cumin powder and chaat masala. Garnish with coriander and pomegranate seeds.

* Step 9

Your delicious dahi vada are ready to serve.
