Half keki ('mandazi ya kupasuka') #localfoodcontest_Nairobi_East

just got interested in the 'ngumu-like' mandazi and had to give it a shot...at it was very nice.

Ingredient

2 cups

flour

1/2 tbsp

baking soda

1 tbsp

magarine

1/2 cup

sugar

1/2 tbsp

salt

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Mix all the dry ingredients thoroughly

* Step 2

Add the margarine and the oil and mix evenly

* Step 3

Add the milk/water and make a dough...do not let it be as soft as the mandazi dough

* Step 4

Put in a bowl and allow to rest for 30 minutes

* Step 5

Roll out the dough and cut into shapes

* Step 6

In a medium heated oil in a pan, put the cut dough, allow it to brown on one side for like 2 minutes, then turn the next side.

* Step 7

Put on in a strainer and allow the oil to drain
