Meat-Wrapped Tofu With Oyster Sauce and Mayonnaise

I came up with this recipe when I was trying to make a substantial and filling dish using cheap thinly cut pork.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

After draining away the excess water from the tofu, cut it 2 cm thick and then cut into rectangular pieces. Cut the same number of tofu pieces as you have meat slices. Finely shred the cabbage, massage in a little salt, then squeeze out the excess moisture.

Place a slice of meat vertically on your work surface, put on some cabbage, cheese (just a little bit), and a piece of tofu on the end closer to you, and wrap it all up tightly. In the meantime mix together the mayonnaise, sake, mirin, sugar and oyster sauce.

Dust the meat rolls lightly with katakuriko (not listed), and pan-fry until browned. When the meat is browned all over, turn down the heat to low, add the sauce ingredients and roll the pieces to coat.
