Flat Naan Bread نان تافتون
Flat bread in Iran is one of most popular breads. However, nowadays, flatbreads are cooked in many countries with different names such as : Tortilla, Chapatis, Taftun, Lavash.
Traditionally breads are baked inside the tandoor oven. Tandoor or Tanour or Tanir is a clay made pot for baking and cooking.the heat source or fuel of tandoor might be coal, wood or Cow droppings mixed straw and sun dried, they used it a fuel for tandoor.
Cooking instructions
* Step 2
Add milk and butter to a pot and heat the mixture until butter is melted.
In a separate bowl, mix flour with salt.
* Step 3
Add mixture of melted butter to the flour. Use your hand and mix until firm dough.
* Step 4
Remove the dough from the bowl and place it on a floured surface. Knead the dough for 2 minutes. Cover it with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let to rest for half an hour in the corner of the kitchen (in room temperature).
* Step 5
Then place the dough on a floured surface and divide it into 4-5 pieces. Make each one ball shape.
Now on a floured surface, use a rolling pin and flatten the dough.
* Step 6
Sprinkle some Olive oil in a pan. Heat the pan and place the dough on the pan.
* Step 7
In 2 minutes surface of bread bubble up.
* Step 8
Once it happened flip over and let to cook other side. (each side needs to cook for 2-3 minutes)..
* Step 9
Once all breads are cooked, you might add grated garlic to melted butter and rub on the bread.
* Step 11
Or make a fresh herbs and cheese sandwich. Or it is a delicious along with curry and rice. Serve them in your own way or wrap them with a kitchen towel and store :)
