'Halwa' poori

'Halwa' poori

'Halwa' poori is a delicious treat for breakfast, specially on Sunday morning or as brunch, enjoy, course: breakfast, brunch, cuisine: indian, Pakistani, Diet: dessert.

Ingredient

semolina

1/2 cup

sugar

1/2 cup

melted ghee

1-2 tbsp

salted butter

1-2 tbsp

oil

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Heat a pan on low heat, add semolina and dry fry on moderate heat,keep stirring, cook till little brown in colour, (don't burn it).

* Step 2

Add melted ghee and butter, mix well. Cook for 5 mins, add cardamom powder mix well, cook for 1 min and add sugar mix well, pour milk slowly, add dry fruits, yellow food colour and mix well, cook till thick, add 1-2 tbsp ghee from side and mix well. Cook for 1 min and serve hot with poori. Garnish with sliced almonds

* Step 3

For poori: in a bowl πŸ₯£ add whole wheat flour 🌾, semolina, oil and mix well, pour the water πŸ’¦ and knead lightly, until smooth and pliable dough, roll into a ball the dough, grease it's surface with a little oil, cover with kitchen towel and rest for 30 mins.

* Step 4

Divide the dough into six equal size balls, roll them into balls, grease the rolling pin with oil, add one ball on and make circular shape about 12 mm in diameter with the thickness of 2 mm. Heat oil and deep fry poori's one at a time, till golden brown, complete all the balls the same way. Serve with Halwa. Enjoy
