Teriyaki Mackerel Don

Teriyaki Mackerel Don

You should stock Canned Fish (e.g. Tuna, Mackerel, Salmon, Sardine) in your pantry. They are a good source of protein and often available on good special prices. I am a big fan of Canned Mackerel. I often make my lunch using a 125g can. I have shared the recipes of ‘Miso Mackerel Don’ and 'Curry Mackerel Don'. Here is another one to share with you.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Drain the Canned Mackerel, discard the brine or water, and break into smaller pieces.

* Step 2

Heat all the sauce ingredients in a small frying pan or saucepan over a medium low heat, add Spring Onion and Mackerel. Cook for a minute or until Spring Onion is cooked. It won’t take long at all.

* Step 3

Half fill a bowl with warmed cooked rice and cover it with the Mackerel mixture. Sprinkle some Nori and Toasted Sesame Seeds, and enjoy.
