Pitta Bread ๐ŸŒฑ

These always set off my smoke alarm, but I ignored it and recorded the pitta bread puffing up ๐Ÿคฃ @sonia - Iโ€™m not sure if Iโ€™ve removed the sound from my video?!!

Ingredient

1/2 cup

white flour

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Add flours to a bowl, add a pinch of salt and sugar and mix. Combine fresh yeast with 1/2 cup of room temperature water and stir until dissolved. Add to flour. Add enough water to make a dough ball. Knead until elastic (about 8 minutes). Put to prove in a warm place with a cloth on top for a couple of hours.

* Step 2

Knead dough again and split into balls, just bigger than a golf ball. Let them rest for around half an hour. Roll on a floured surface until flat.

Heat your pan to a fairly high temperature. Lay the dough flat. Donโ€™t touch it and it will puff up. Cook on both sides, it will only take a minute or two. top: if it doesnโ€™t puff, press gently with a slightly wet (clean!!) kitchen towel or similar and it will encourage it.
