Lemon spoon sweet

Because I think that we should hold our traditions, one of the fundamental things I learned from my mother is how to make spoon sweets. Lemon is a winter citrus fruit so this is the ideal time to make the following recipe.

Ingredient

Food ration :

2 jars of 1 kg
1300 g

sugar

1 1/2 tbsp

glucose syrup

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash the lemons thoroughly and wipe them dry.

Grate the peel well and then score and remove the pith.

Take each piece, roll it tight and pass a toothpick through it to hold the shape. Boil for 5 minutes and then discard the water. Do this four times. The reason for that is so that they don't have a bitter taste. Have them boil until tender on the last time.

As soon as they boil, let them strain overnight. On the next day, prepare the syrup.

Place the water in the pot and add the sugar, the glucose syrup and the lemon juice.When it starts boiling let it until the syrup begins to thicken. Then add the lemons and let everything boil until the spoon sweet is completely done (the syrup shouldn't run like water from the spoon). Let it cool, remove the toothpicks and then store in glass jars.
