Calamari yahni

Calamari yahni (braised in tomato sauce and onions). A different way to cook calamari for those of you who got bored of making it only with rice.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Clean, wash the calamari and set them aside.

* Step 2

Peel the onions, cut in half and then into slices.

* Step 3

Place them in a frying pot with a little bit of water and let them steam and get tender.

* Step 4

Using the pot that you will boil the food in, heat the oil, add the calamari and lightly sauté over medium heat.

* Step 5

Add the onions that you have already steamed, the pepper, the bay leaf, the tomato sauce and the salt.

* Step 6

If necessary, add very little water.

* Step 7

Cook over low heat, well covered and when the calamari gets tender, the food is ready.
