Murder cookies

A Redditor was researching a murder that happened in their house years ago. They learned that the neighbor, who was a baker, won an award for these scotch cookies. Another Redditor commented that they should be called "murder cookies".

Ingredient

1 1/2 cups

sugar

1 cup

shortening

1/2 cup

molasses

egg

3 1/2 cups

flour

1 tsp

salt

2 1/2 tsp

baking soda

1 tsp

cinnamon

1 tsp

mace

1/4 cup

milk

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Cream the sugar, shortening, molasses, and egg.

* Step 2

Sift the dry ingredients and beat in with the milk.

* Step 3

Drop by tablespoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Press them with a lightly floured glass no less than ¼" (1cm).

* Step 4

Bake at 350° for about 9 minutes. The tops will begin to crack open. Cool and enjoy. I personally think they're even better the next day. Keep them in a tight Tupperware with a slice bread end to keep them soft.
