Lapis Daging (Braised Beef in Spices)
This is an Indonesian dish that you will want to eat again and again, so tender, juicy, fall apart beef that is covered in a rich gravy full of spices.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Heat oil in a wok on high heat and fry ground spice until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Then add daun salam and kaffir lime leaves and mix well.
* Step 2
Add beef slices into the wok, mix and reduce the heat to medium, and then stir until the meat is no longer pink and the juices become dry.
* Step 3
Add water to the wok and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a bare simmer, and continue cooking until all the water is gone. This should take about 1 to 1half hours, and the meat should be tender.
* Step 4
Last add salt, palm sugar, sweet soy sauce and tamarind paste. Then mix well, and cook until the sauce thickens and glazes the meat.
* Step 5
Turn off heat and serve warm or at room temperature with steamed rice and any dish you like.
