Homemade Yogurt with yogurt machine

Ingredient

Food ration :

1 litre
1 litre

milk

1/2 tsp

sugar

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Boil milk to 180F / 82C°

* Step 2

Turn off heat and cool to 108F / 42C°

* Step 3

Take a few spoons of the milk and mix with the yogurt starter to create a culture

* Step 4

Mix the culture into the milk really well

* Step 5

Pour into into the jars and loosely cover the top, not tightly with a lid. Covering it loosely helps create a thicker solid yogurt as the extra steam evaporates

* Step 6

Place in yogurt maker and pour in hot water to cover the jars

* Step 7

Turn on and leave for 8 hours

* Step 8

After 8 hours place in fridge with lids open for another 8 hours

* Step 9

Yogurt should be thick and ready to serve
