Swamp Soup
If’n y’all like turnip greens or collard greens & sausage. You’re gonna love this green soup! It goes great with some buttermilk cornbread! Yum!
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Pour greens, beans & tomatoes in colander, rinse and drain. Pour into large soup pot.
* Step 2
Cover with water, bring to a boil, add okra, onion, garlic, salt & pepper. (I added 1/2 tsp cumin, but that’s your choice).
* Step 3
Cook until onion is clear & okra is cooked. (There’s nothing worse than realizing that the okra you tossed in last is not cooked)
* Step 4
Let cook on reduced heat until all veggies are done. Taste, then season accordingly.
* Step 5
Note: I use a crockpot and let cook until dinner time. Serve with cornbread, hush puppies and/or rice.
