Grandma Flora's Strawberry Cake

Grandma Flora, my husbands grandmother was a wonderful cook. She made this recipe when she still wanted to bake for us but needed an easier version. Everything she made was with great joy and love!

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Mix together the flour , cake mix, jello, eggs and water.

* Step 2

Add in oil and strawberries beating for 2 minutes.

Heat oven to 350°F.

Cake is done when you can insert a toothpick in the center and it comes out clean. Remove cake and cool on wire rack in pan for 15 minutes.

* Step 6

You will leave the cake in the 9 by 13 and frost when completely cooled, about another 45 minutes.

* Step 7

For 2 rounds, cool in pan then remove and place cakes directly on wire rack to cool. Same timing of 45 minutes before icing.

* Step 8

For icing, beat butter, cream cheese, vanilla, strawberries and powdered sugar until whipped and creamy. Chill for 15 minutes before icing. You can make icing while cakes are cooling and time both to finish cooling together. Ice your cake and enjoy!
