Braided Bread

Ingredient

Warm water

1/2 cup

Butter

2 T

Sugar

2 t

Salt

2 cups

Flour

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Mix water and yeast and set aside.

* Step 2

Combine butter, sugar, and salt. Pour scalded milk over the top and cool to lukewarm (about 20 minutes).

* Step 3

Stir in 2 cups flour, then add yeast and eggs. Mix well.

* Step 4

Add remaining flour. Knead until smooth.

* Step 5

Place in greased bowl and cover until double in size (about 1 1/2 hours).

* Step 6

Punch it. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and divide into 6 balls.

* Step 7

Roll balls into strips 1 inch in diameter.

* Step 8

Braid bread, pinching and tucking ends underneath.

* Step 9

Place on greased cookie sheet and cover. Let raise for 1 hour.

* Step 10

Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
